Going to go ahead and open up character registrations! Sorry for double-post, but... also have to post my own!
If you want to use an example, note that I only omitted fields where I felt like it, pretty much, which is just appearance on most of the Pokémon because I think we all know how they look by now.
Weight: 150 lbs.
- Ajikagé (Quilava)
- Aina (Mightyena)
- Gladius (Skarmory)
- Kekoa (Walrein)
- Nazuro (Jolteon)
Appearance: Keiji is a young man of about average build--that is, though he does not look starved, he certainly is not a bodybuilder, either. He prefers agility over strength. His skin is tanned noticeably, and his hair is straight and bright blonde, usually kept at a relatively short length but sometimes allowed to grow a bit more. His face is neither gaunt nor round, but has some level of strength and dignity to its appearance.
Personality: Keiji is generally friendly and gregarious. He loves nature and Pokémon, and likes to take walks through the woods to think, following no particular path. He may come across as spacey at times, but his devotion to his friends and his Pokémon cannot be questioned. His overall mannerism is casual, but he knows when to be serious. It is difficult to anger him without directly attacking his ideals, but, on the other hand, he is generally easy to please.
History: Keiji was once a normal child who, at a young age, set out on a Pokémon journey in the Johto region. Though he was quite good at training, the fact that he developed a particularly strong mental bond with Ajikagé led the Pokémon League to dismiss him from the challenge. He was not the only one who had this special skill, and formed a group of trainers who were banned from the League as a result of it.
This group specialized in extreme training methods and autonomy. Their primary goal was to set out to prevent trouble before it got out of hand, and the obstructive bureaucracy of the League would get in the way of solving it in time. As such, they constantly stepped on the League’s toes while traveling through the various regions to settle disputes and vanquish criminals.
Keiji’s current assignment is to determine if the famous Relic Stone has an effect on the special bond that their group forms with Pokémon, as well as to uncover what he can about Cipher and Snagem. He has chosen Agate Village as his base of operations.
Personality: Though perhaps a little bit shy, Ajikagé is a generally cheery individual. He likes to dance and spar and mimic singers. He has a very deep relationship with Keiji, and understands his almost every word. Sometimes, he plays rough, but he otherwise gets along very well with other Pokémon. In serious combat, he can be fearsome, but his relative emotional predictability makes him a stable partner.
History: Ajikagé was Keiji’s very first Pokémon, a gift from Professor Birch when he lived in Johto and ascribed to be a Pokémon Master along the lines of the Pokémon League. However, the two of them developed an unusual bond very quickly that made them very effective combat partners. Around the time Ajikagé evolved, he was drawing suspicion from League agents.
Ever since Keiji was chased away from the League path for his “unfair advantage,” Ajikagé has travelled with him and is one of the few Pokémon he has managed to keep.
Personality: Aina is a playful and frisky, if not aggressive, Mightyena. She has a hot temper and a sharp tongue, but when not angry is typically pretty upbeat. She is remarkably obedient for her fiery attitude. In a pinch, she can improvise a motherly mannerism, but certainly prefers to tease, and sometimes pleasure, males with her elegant, muscular body and rather dislikes the thought of being tied down.
History: During his travels in Hoenn as a response to the emerging Team Magma-Aqua crisis, Keiji encountered Aina as a stray Poochyena in Rustboro City. He enticed her near with food, gaining her trust. Though he did not initially intend to capture her, she approached him repeatedly, so he decided to take her onto his team.
Ever since then, Aina has been one of Keiji’s team members and a strongly loyal partner. She learned to fulfill all kinds of useful roles beyond regular battle, including tracking scents and removing obstacles. Her evolution also saw a strong interest in mating habits, which he has had to police constantly.
Personality: As a bird of prey encased in metal with a generally harsh lifestyle, Gladius is understandably aloof and indifferent most of the time. He is not hostile towards strangers--in fact, he is surprisingly open to new acquaintances, so long as they respect his desire for personal space--but a misstep could result in painful consequences. He has an abnormal interest in philosophy.
History: Gladius is one of the Pokémon that Keiji caught while traveling in the Hoenn region. Though no particularly special meeting circumstances created a particularly strong bond between the two, Keiji finds him to be a very interesting and useful Pokémon. Gladius often provides a fast means of transport.
Appearance: Kekoa is within the normal range of size and coloration for a Walrein, though perhaps slightly lighter in blubber due to being an occupant of a warmer region for now. His hide has scars that are clearly distinguishable in his thin, blue fur, lending him an air of toughness and experience.
Personality: Kekoa is a hardy Walrein who, at a glance, appears to have tendencies towards stoicism. However, getting more familiar with him reveals that he has a good sense of humor and rather dislikes being alone. He tends to be friendly on social terms, but is a brutal powerhouse in combat who has a very hard time taking it easy. Even then, making him angry is a very bad idea.
History: When Team Aqua threatened to capture a large number of Pokémon from Shoal Cave, disregarding the disruption they were causing to the life in the area, Kekoa accepted help from Keiji to defend those who lived there. Shortly thereafter, while spending time in Mossdeep, Kekoa returned to Keiji, and as thanks offered his partnership. Because of Kekoa’s strength and resolve, Keiji has made him a permanent member of his team.
Personality: As a result of his troubled past, Nazuro is extremely shy around strangers. He is emotional and can be unpredictable at times. He has a hard time coming to terms with new acquaintances and is very alert in almost any circumstance, but, when he feels secure, he loves affection. He greatly dislikes fighting. That said, when angered or frightened to the breaking point, he can lose control and sink into an uncontrollable rage.
History: Nazuro was born into a family that was captured by Team Rocket and used for their villainous exploits. Though, at the time, Nazuro was in fairly stable mental condition, he was still shy and did not like fighting very much. As such, he was readily abused into fighting, and was very unhappy. At some point, they decided that he was unfit for their plans and abandoned him.
He was then picked up by a member of Team Snagem, who forced him to evolve. Aware that Nazuro was not an effective combatant due to his natural timidity, he was forced into a shadow state, thus turned into a fighting machine. Nazuro only has vague memories of this stage but is terrified of the thoughts associated with it.
During a bust of a small Snagem hideout, Nazuro was returned to friendly hands. However, incapable of dealing with his shadowed state, they passed him on to Keiji, who began the long process of purifying him.
