Agate Village - Characters

Postby Agito on Thu May 20, 2010 1:14 am

Went ahead and cooked up a bio form so everyone can work on them. Please do not post the characters yet; I will let you know when it is time to post them. If you want to add any pieces of information to the fields listed, feel free. At present, I am placing no strict limitations on the Pokémon that you may have, but you may not have legends or Ditto.

For humans:

Name:

Age:
Gender:
Height:
Weight:

Occupation:

Pokémon:

Appearance:

Personality:

History:

Notes: Height and Weight will be assumed to be approximations. Occupation, I will not be too picky; however, you need to stay consistent with that job. You can have more than one so long as it is reasonable, and you act like they have more than one. Pokémon will just be a list of the Pokémon that they own. History is optional.

For Pokémon:

Name:
Specie:
Gender:

Appearance:

Personality:

History:

Notes: I left out some of the details because they will be assumed to be approximately normal based on the specie. Appearance and History are both optional.

Going to go ahead and open up character registrations! Sorry for double-post, but... also have to post my own!

If you want to use an example, note that I only omitted fields where I felt like it, pretty much, which is just appearance on most of the Pokémon because I think we all know how they look by now.

Name: Keiji

Age: 21
Gender: Male
Height: 6`1``
Weight: 150 lbs.

Occupation: Trainer

Pokémon:
- Ajikagé (Quilava)
- Aina (Mightyena)
- Gladius (Skarmory)
- Kekoa (Walrein)
- Nazuro (Jolteon)

Appearance: Keiji is a young man of about average build--that is, though he does not look starved, he certainly is not a bodybuilder, either. He prefers agility over strength. His skin is tanned noticeably, and his hair is straight and bright blonde, usually kept at a relatively short length but sometimes allowed to grow a bit more. His face is neither gaunt nor round, but has some level of strength and dignity to its appearance.

Personality: Keiji is generally friendly and gregarious. He loves nature and Pokémon, and likes to take walks through the woods to think, following no particular path. He may come across as spacey at times, but his devotion to his friends and his Pokémon cannot be questioned. His overall mannerism is casual, but he knows when to be serious. It is difficult to anger him without directly attacking his ideals, but, on the other hand, he is generally easy to please.

History: Keiji was once a normal child who, at a young age, set out on a Pokémon journey in the Johto region. Though he was quite good at training, the fact that he developed a particularly strong mental bond with Ajikagé led the Pokémon League to dismiss him from the challenge. He was not the only one who had this special skill, and formed a group of trainers who were banned from the League as a result of it.

This group specialized in extreme training methods and autonomy. Their primary goal was to set out to prevent trouble before it got out of hand, and the obstructive bureaucracy of the League would get in the way of solving it in time. As such, they constantly stepped on the League’s toes while traveling through the various regions to settle disputes and vanquish criminals.

Keiji’s current assignment is to determine if the famous Relic Stone has an effect on the special bond that their group forms with Pokémon, as well as to uncover what he can about Cipher and Snagem. He has chosen Agate Village as his base of operations.

Name: Ajikagé
Specie: Quilava
Gender: Male

Personality: Though perhaps a little bit shy, Ajikagé is a generally cheery individual. He likes to dance and spar and mimic singers. He has a very deep relationship with Keiji, and understands his almost every word. Sometimes, he plays rough, but he otherwise gets along very well with other Pokémon. In serious combat, he can be fearsome, but his relative emotional predictability makes him a stable partner.

History: Ajikagé was Keiji’s very first Pokémon, a gift from Professor Birch when he lived in Johto and ascribed to be a Pokémon Master along the lines of the Pokémon League. However, the two of them developed an unusual bond very quickly that made them very effective combat partners. Around the time Ajikagé evolved, he was drawing suspicion from League agents.

Ever since Keiji was chased away from the League path for his “unfair advantage,” Ajikagé has travelled with him and is one of the few Pokémon he has managed to keep.

Name: Aina
Specie: Mightyena
Gender: Female

Personality: Aina is a playful and frisky, if not aggressive, Mightyena. She has a hot temper and a sharp tongue, but when not angry is typically pretty upbeat. She is remarkably obedient for her fiery attitude. In a pinch, she can improvise a motherly mannerism, but certainly prefers to tease, and sometimes pleasure, males with her elegant, muscular body and rather dislikes the thought of being tied down.

History: During his travels in Hoenn as a response to the emerging Team Magma-Aqua crisis, Keiji encountered Aina as a stray Poochyena in Rustboro City. He enticed her near with food, gaining her trust. Though he did not initially intend to capture her, she approached him repeatedly, so he decided to take her onto his team.

Ever since then, Aina has been one of Keiji’s team members and a strongly loyal partner. She learned to fulfill all kinds of useful roles beyond regular battle, including tracking scents and removing obstacles. Her evolution also saw a strong interest in mating habits, which he has had to police constantly.

Name: Gladius
Specie: Skarmory
Gender: Male

Personality: As a bird of prey encased in metal with a generally harsh lifestyle, Gladius is understandably aloof and indifferent most of the time. He is not hostile towards strangers--in fact, he is surprisingly open to new acquaintances, so long as they respect his desire for personal space--but a misstep could result in painful consequences. He has an abnormal interest in philosophy.

History: Gladius is one of the Pokémon that Keiji caught while traveling in the Hoenn region. Though no particularly special meeting circumstances created a particularly strong bond between the two, Keiji finds him to be a very interesting and useful Pokémon. Gladius often provides a fast means of transport.

Name: Kekoa
Specie: Walrein
Gender: Male

Appearance: Kekoa is within the normal range of size and coloration for a Walrein, though perhaps slightly lighter in blubber due to being an occupant of a warmer region for now. His hide has scars that are clearly distinguishable in his thin, blue fur, lending him an air of toughness and experience.

Personality: Kekoa is a hardy Walrein who, at a glance, appears to have tendencies towards stoicism. However, getting more familiar with him reveals that he has a good sense of humor and rather dislikes being alone. He tends to be friendly on social terms, but is a brutal powerhouse in combat who has a very hard time taking it easy. Even then, making him angry is a very bad idea.

History: When Team Aqua threatened to capture a large number of Pokémon from Shoal Cave, disregarding the disruption they were causing to the life in the area, Kekoa accepted help from Keiji to defend those who lived there. Shortly thereafter, while spending time in Mossdeep, Kekoa returned to Keiji, and as thanks offered his partnership. Because of Kekoa’s strength and resolve, Keiji has made him a permanent member of his team.

Name: Nazuro
Specie: Jolteon
Gender: Male

Personality: As a result of his troubled past, Nazuro is extremely shy around strangers. He is emotional and can be unpredictable at times. He has a hard time coming to terms with new acquaintances and is very alert in almost any circumstance, but, when he feels secure, he loves affection. He greatly dislikes fighting. That said, when angered or frightened to the breaking point, he can lose control and sink into an uncontrollable rage.

History: Nazuro was born into a family that was captured by Team Rocket and used for their villainous exploits. Though, at the time, Nazuro was in fairly stable mental condition, he was still shy and did not like fighting very much. As such, he was readily abused into fighting, and was very unhappy. At some point, they decided that he was unfit for their plans and abandoned him.

He was then picked up by a member of Team Snagem, who forced him to evolve. Aware that Nazuro was not an effective combatant due to his natural timidity, he was forced into a shadow state, thus turned into a fighting machine. Nazuro only has vague memories of this stage but is terrified of the thoughts associated with it.

During a bust of a small Snagem hideout, Nazuro was returned to friendly hands. However, incapable of dealing with his shadowed state, they passed him on to Keiji, who began the long process of purifying him.

Re: Agate Village - Characters

Yaaay finally posting

Name: Jayne

Age: 22
Gender: Female
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 150 lbs.

Occupation: Bartender

Pokémon:
- Inas (Espeon)
- Wymond (Kadabra)

Appearance: Jayne is a fairly tall and thin woman, with a particular affliction to cold - she enjoys wrapping up a bunch, especially since she keeps the bar cool as well. With mousy brown curly hair pulled back in a ponytail most of the time, most of her thin pale face is on display most of the time. Even though she likes the warm sun, she stays mostly pale year-round.

Personality: Being a bartender, Jayne needs to be generally talkative and bouncy - and she usually manages to keep a smiling face on for her customers. Around closing time, though, she can get a bit melancholy as everyone starts to leave, and usually has a chat with her two Psychic Pokemon as she cleans off the bar. Before her connection with Inas, Jayne was mildly psychic - able to divine people's feelings and what the weather would be like tomorrow. After bonding with her Espeon, though, she developed the ability to hone her senses slightly as well as a mild form of telekinesis. She keeps these abilities hidden, however.

History: Jayne grew up with her parents above a small pub in downtown Goldenrod, watching the various people head in and out of the bar from a specially-crafted spying spot. When she turned 21, she decided she wanted to open her own brewery somewhere, and set out where the winds took her with just her childhood pet - then named Ribbon - in tow. Midway through her journey to Agate she took a tumble into a ravine, mangling one of her legs. That's when Ribbon decided that was time to evolve into an Espeon, forming a bond with her trainer to save her life. She was renamed in the process, as Ribbon is a pretty ridiculous name. A few months later she arrived in Agate, bought the building, and set up her bar. Her current assignment is... tending the bar at night and wandering during the day.

Name: Inas
Specie: Espeon
Gender: Female

Personality: Quiet and introverted. Since she shares a deep connection with Jayne after saving her life, she's loathe to trust anyone else unless Jayne gives them an okay rating first. However, once she opens up to people, she can normally be funny and easygoing - until, of course, anyone she doesn't know wanders up.

History: Ines was formerly named Ribbon, a name Jayne picked for her when she was younger. Although she tried to communicate her hatred of the name by gagging every time she was called, her protests were mostly ignored and followed up by visits to the vet. She still enjoyed accompanying Jayne, and followed her as she left home before later saving her life by evolving into an Espeon and using psychic pressure to stem the bleeding in her trainer's leg, linking them somehow. Now she mainly lazes below the counter in the bar during working hours, helping Jayne with anything she might need.

Name: Wymond
Specie: Kadabra
Gender: Male

Personality: Quieter and stoic. He only really responds to Jayne and her instructions, choosing to meditate the rest of the time unless someone's giving his trainer trouble. That person is promptly picked up and swept out of the bar with a burst of psychic energy before the Kadabra returns to its resting state.

History: While arriving in Gateon Port from a boat, Jayne stumbled upon a meditating Kadabra - and fell on her face, really. She kept going, assuming that the Kadabra belonged to someone in the port, but when he showed up later to fend off a feral Gligar attack while she was asleep she brought him along as part of her team, bringing back flashbacks of the Arcanine that watched over her father's bar.
